The Parkinson's Disease Specialist Pharmacy Network's (PDSPN) third educational conference will bring together pharmacy professionals, members of the wider pharmacy team, pharmacy students and Parkinson's health and social care professionals with a special interest in Parkinson’s for a day of learning and networking.

This year, the theme of the conference is "The power of the Pharmacy Team in Parkinson's".

Through expert speaker sessions and workshops, the conference will focus on the latest information and developments in the management and diagnosis of Parkinson’s.

The educational sessions will support pharmacists and allied health care professionals with their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and enable them to advise, support, signpost, and improve outcomes for people with Parkinson’s.

The conference will cover the following topics:

  • A presentation by Professor Ray Chaudhuri – our Keynote speaker. 
  • Exploring patients' experiences around branded to generic switching of Parkinson’s medication. 
  • An overview of the services Parkinson’s UK provides.
  • Why Parkinson’s medication is time critical.
  • An interview with one or more of the co-hosts from the Movers and Shakers podcast.
  • How the smell test for Parkinson’s was developed including a demonstration by a dog trained to detect the Parkinson’s scent.
  • A choice of 3 workshops subject to availability.
