Philanthropy, trusts and foundations

We build long-term partnerships with philanthropists, grant-making trusts, foundations and companies who all play a pivotal role in funding breakthroughs.

Help drive change for Parkinson’s

Becoming a major donor for Parkinson’s UK is a powerful way to make a big impact. Our mission has never been more urgent. Parkinson’s is the fastest-growing neurological condition in the world. And currently there’s no cure. 1 in 37 people alive in the UK today will be diagnosed with Parkinson’s in their lifetime.

But we’re close to major breakthroughs. And the continued support of the philanthropic community is critical to the success of everything we do. Together we will find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.

Valuable supporters like you have driven incredible achievements so far. These include:

  • Creating the Parkinson’s Virtual Biotech, our drug discovery and development programme. It's a groundbreaking global movement to deliver life-changing new treatments in years not decades. We use a pioneering model to drive investment in the most promising Parkinson’s research, adapting methods from business and venture capital financing to serve the needs of people with Parkinson’s. The Allan Willett Foundation made the first cornerstone gift that enabled us to fund the early projects in the Virtual Biotech portfolio.
  • Funding vital support services for the Parkinson’s community, including our helpline, local advisers and Parkinson’s nurses. You’ve also helped fund Parkinson’s Connect, allowing doctors and healthcare professionals to refer people with Parkinson's directly to Parkinson’s UK and the whole network of support we can offer. The Frank Brake Charitable Trust generously created the Frank and Evelyn Brake Connect Fund to raise an incredible £1.2m for Parkinson's Connect.

Why partner with Parkinson’s UK?

When you fund our work, the results won't just be seen in the lab. You’ll also be helping to improve daily life for people living with the condition.

We identify projects and activities that inspire you as much as us. We take the time to listen to your individual interests and help you meet your philanthropic goals.

We want to recognise your generosity in the ways that are most meaningful to you. That’s why we’ll make sure you have opportunities to see the impact of your donation first-hand – from visits to our research facilities and invitations to our research lectures, to bespoke updates, reports and messages from our senior leadership team.
