We won't wait for accessible trains
Being able to get around and travel the country is something we often take for granted. Yet, for too many people, getting on and off our trains can be a massive challenge.
Nearly 80% of train stations do not have step free access. At the current rate of progress, it will be 200 years before the network is fully accessible.
Campaigning for change
That's why as Parkinson's UK we've signed the Transport for All open letter. We agree that the Secretary of State for Transport needs to work towards a more ambitious schedule. Repeatedly delaying works that will make stations accessible isn't good enough.
We want to see an accessible train network that allows everyone to get to work and travel for leisure.
