Together, we’ve been working on our 2020 to 2024 strategy. Scaling up our previous successes, it’s more ambitious than ever. Because you’ve told us it has to be.
Our current 5-year strategy will draw to a close at the end of 2019. Guided by the Parkinson’s community, we’ve been busy shaping our new strategy.
What we've learnt over the past 5 years
At this year’s Parkinson’s UK Members’ Day and Annual General Meeting (AGM), we’ll be showcasing the impact we’ve made together. Our Chief Executive, Steve Ford, will introduce our 2020 to 2024 strategy and share how it builds on what we've learnt over the past 5 years.
We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together. We’ve pioneered new projects to accelerate research, like our Virtual Biotech, which has several promising projects now in development. We set up the UK Parkinson’s Excellence Network, which has driven a 16% rise in care quality, and used technology to transform services for people with Parkinson’s.
Taking on the next challenge together
Together we’ve made a real impact. But we won’t rest until we’ve found a cure and improved life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s. This focus has been at the heart of our new strategy.
It has been a joint effort, with over 600 people affected by Parkinson’s sharing your views. We’ve also analysed our services and research, and reached out to health professionals, donors and many more.
As a result, our new strategy is more ambitious than ever, scaling up our previous successes. We’re ready to take on the challenge together.
We'll publish our full 2020 to 2024 strategy later in the year. It focuses on 4 key areas that matter the most to people with Parkinson's:
- Accelerating breakthroughs in research
- Better support, every day
- Getting Parkinson’s understood
- Transforming Parkinson’s – together as a movement
Working together over the next 5 years, we want to have the biggest impact on improving the lives of people with Parkinson's. Together we'll find a cure.
We’ll publish our new strategy later in the year. You can find out more about our current strategy, and eventually the full detail of our new strategy on our dedicated strategy page.
