Domino's deliver a new partnership
We're delighted to announce that Domino's franchise, Full House Restaurants Holdings Limited, will be partnering with us until April 2018.
The UK-wide franchise of 43 pizza restaurants is owned by John Shedden, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's last year, aged 69. John and his team of 2,000 staff aim to raise £100,000 for our We Won't Wait research campaign by donating a percentage of sales from a charity pizza.
Helping deliver a cure
Our We Won't Wait campaign focuses on the fact that it's been 200 years since Parkinson's was identified as a condition and yet there's still no cure. From today, every menu sent from one of John's Domino's stores will promote the campaign; and 50p from a large, 30p from a medium and 15p from a small Deluxe pizza will be donated to Parkinson's UK.
John explains: "My diagnosis was a shock to me and my family – like it is for so many. This new campaign by Parkinson's UK gives people like me hope. A cure would stop me fearing the future – I won't let customers wait for pizza, so why am I waiting for a cure?"
It's a key message for the partnership – that while customers don't wait too long for pizza delivery, together we can make sure no one with Parkinson's waits much longer for a cure.
Ian Savage, our Corporate Relationships Manager, says: "We're really excited to be working with John and his team – they're so enthusiastic about helping us deliver a cure for Parkinson's. They attached a leaflet to every single pizza box during our awareness week! It was a great start to the partnership and we look forward to working with them over the next year."
Pizza for Parkinson's Day
"John has connections with other Domino's franchisees and has invited them all to take part in a Pizza for Parkinson's Day on Thursday 18 May. On this day, 5p will go towards Parkinson's UK from every pizza ordered, wherever you live – so add a guilt-free 'night in' to your diary!"
