Hydrow partnership to Row it Back

Alex Echo, internationally renowned artist. Hydrow, state-of-the-art, full-body rowing experience. Parkinson’s UK, improving life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s. Coming together to raise awareness of Parkinson’s and the benefits of physical activity.

Parkinson’s is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world. There are over 40 symptoms. Tremor. Pain. Hallucinations. Everyone’s experience is different.

Alex Echo was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2019. He got in touch with Hydrow asking for help. Alex wanted to see if a Hydrow rowing machine could help him. Since using the Hydrow, he has seen an improvement in his wellbeing and symptoms.

Alex has partnered with Hydrow to create and release limited edition Hydrow rowing machines wrapped in his artwork to raise awareness and money for Parkinson’s UK. They are launching the partnership in April to mark World Parkinson's Day on 11 April.

Your Parkinson’s says one thing. You can say another. You can row it back.

Keeping active is good for you. It's especially good for you if you have Parkinson's.

Staying active is different for everybody. For some, it’s walking, gardening or climbing the stairs. For others, it’s running or cycling. For Alex Echo, it’s rowing:

"Rowing it back means taking back ownership of my life. I spent years thinking my life was stolen from me. I was diagnosed and it just got worse. It’s intense. Row it back. Take ownership. You can own your life again, you can do it."

Hydrow is committed to the role staying active plays in physical and mental wellbeing. Hydrow has partnered with us and Alex to raise awareness of Parkinson’s and the benefits of physical activity. 20% of the profits from every limited edition rowing machine will be donated to Parkinson's UK.

Being active can be whatever works for you.

Some activity is good, a little more is better. Just make sure you enjoy it and keep it varied. Nervous to give it a go? Alex says:

"If an old guy with no balance and a fear of falling over every day can do it, you can do it. Go for it. Try it. Rebuild your health, rebuild your wellbeing. My wellbeing has been improved immensely. You can do it. We can do it together."
