Research Champions: let's raise awareness of research
Activities and information to help Research Champions get more people involved in research.
Share a new research registry
Designed by researchers in Newcastle with support from a Parkinson's UK Excellence Network grant, the JPR@Research+Me registry will help match people with Parkinson’s with studies that might be suitable for them.
Registrants will be sent information about research opportunities via email and through a regular newsletter. In the future, the platform will send out invitations to register interest in research. This will enable people with Parkinson's to find out whether they may be eligible and allow research teams to reach out to them directly.
Read about a mental health app
Results from a Parkinson’s UK funded study showed the PACT app could help improve many aspects of mental health for people with Parkinson's.
The app is available now and free to download.

More ways to get involved with research
The research reading group was put together to help people understand scientific papers published on Parkinson's.
Parkinson's researcher Dr. Lucy Annett at the University of Hertfordshire hosts the group. The group meets quarterly online via Zoom.
Become a Parkinson's UK member so you can receive our research magazine, Progress, delivered by post.
You can also download the latest edition of Progress to share by email.
RIGs are made up of people with Parkinson's and their loved ones, students, researchers and healthcare professionals. They meet frequently, online and in person, to share the latest research and what's happening locally.
