Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA)

The MoCA (Nasreddine et al. 2005) is a brief cognitive screening tool for Mild Cognitive Impairment. It is intended for use by health professionals only.

The brief 10 minute, 30 point tool assesses different cognitive domains: 

  • attention and concentration 
  • executive functions
  • memory
  • language
  • visuoconstructional skills
  • conceptual thinking
  • calculations 
  • orientation

Health professionals can use the MoCA for clinical and educational purposes without permission. However, you must get permission to use it in research or commercial ventures.
