Scientists uncover further evidence that Parkinson's could start in the gut
New research in rats has shown that alpha-synuclein, an abnormal protein normally found in brain cells affected in Parkinson's, can move rapidly from the gut to the brain. These findings support growing evidence that Parkinson’s may start in the gut rather than the brain.
Applying for a Blue Badge is being made easier for those with ‘hidden disabilities’
From 30 August it will be easier for people with 'hidden disabilities' to apply for Blue Badges, and in some situations, they will be automatically entitled. Hidden disabilities can include things like anxiety, freezing or symptoms that may put people at risk of serious harm.
