Developing an online programme to support swallowing problems in Parkinson’s
Researchers have co-designed a programme to support people with Parkinson’s who experience swallowing difficulties. The programme was developed in partnership with Beautiful Voice, a therapy technology company. Feedback from this study will support future development plans for the programme.
15 people with Parkinson’s who
• Experience problems with swallowing
• Have received Speech and Language Therapy
• And have access to a device which connects to the internet
• A 1 hour online screening call with the researcher about your swallowing difficulties
• Using the digital programme to complete a range of daily lip, tongue and swallowing exercises for 2 weeks. This should take 10 to 20 minutes each day.
• A 1 hour online call with the researcher to share your feedback on using the platform
