Developing a food supplement for people with Parkinson’s
Researchers from Ulster University in Coleraine are developing a nutritional drink with added fibre and key nutrients. They are exploring if the drink improves gut symptoms experienced by people with Parkinson’s, such as constipation.
56 people with Parkinson’s
Consuming the nutritional drink for 12 weeks.
Attending 2 research visits for up to 90 minutes. At both visits, you will be asked to:
• have physical measurements recorded including, height, weight, blood pressure and hand grip strength
• provide a stool and blood sample
Completing a 4-day paper-based food diary and some questionnaires.
As a thank you for taking part and as compensation for your travel expenses you will receive a £25 Tesco voucher.
