Depression and anxiety are two of the non-motor symptoms of Parkinson's.

The brief and simple 14 question Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) scale can be used by health and social care providers to assess levels of depression and anxiety in people affected by Parkinson's.

Originally developed for use in hospitals, the HADS scale can also be used in general practice settings (Snaith & Zigmond 1983).

HADS materials are only officially available in paper form at the time of writing, and must be purchased from GL Assessment.
