Investigating earworms in people with and without Parkinson’s
A PhD student is investigating “earworms”, also known as "having a tune stuck in your head", in people with and without Parkinson’s.
They want to understand how earworms can affect movement symptoms and how people feel emotionally. This research could help to develop new therapies for Parkinson’s using music.
• 100 people without Parkinson’s in the UK
• Aged between 18 and 35 years or 55 and above
The researchers have completed recruitment for people with Parkinson's
Completing a 30 minute online survey which involves:
• Listening to and rating 22 short music clips. The music clips have been named as earworms by people with Parkinson’s in previous research
• Answering questions about earworm experiences
