Thanks to our amazing supporters we’ve raised over £1.2m for Parkinson’s Connect. We couldn’t have done this without the incredibly generous support of the Frank Brake Charitable Trust. Together, we’re transforming Parkinson’s.

Parkinson’s Connect is the new name for our information and support services. As more and more people are diagnosed with Parkinson’s, we want to be there for everyone: people with Parkinson’s, family, friends and carers.
Parkinson’s Connect will help us provide people with personalised support, from diagnosis and beyond. And it’s our aim that by 2024, we will be reaching 80% of people newly diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
Doubling donations
This transformation is possible through the incredible support of the Frank Brake Charitable Trust and other earlier funders. The trust generously created The Frank and Evelyn Brake Connect Fund to transform Parkinson’s information and support, pledging to double your donations to make your money go even further.
Frank Brake died in 2018 and Evelyn Brake lived with Parkinson’s for over 30 years, before sadly passing away in early 2022. The whole family's experiences of living with the condition mean that they truly understand how vital it is for people with Parkinson’s to be able to access the right information and support, at the right time and in the right way.
In 2020, the Connect Fund raised £400,000. In 2021 we set out to raise a further £800,000 to reach our £1.2m target. We asked for your help, either by taking part in Walk for Parkinson’s, donating to our autumn appeal, or by donating through your trust or making a major gift.
You walked over 7,500 miles for Parkinson’s
Despite ongoing restrictions from coronavirus (COVID-19), you rose to the challenge. Over 2,200 people took part in one of our Walk for Parkinson’s walks in 2021, walking over 7,500 miles!
And thanks to the Frank and Evelyn Brake Connect Fund, fundraising efforts were doubled, doubling your impact.
Above and beyond
Through our autumn appeal, and major gifts to the Connect Fund, we raised further funding for Parkinson’s Connect.
This means, thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters across these activities, we raised £800,000 last year, and hit the £1.2m target.
