5 things to look out for at our UK Members' Day and AGM

Our Members' Day and Annual General Meeting (AGM) is just around the corner. Here are 5 things to watch out for.

This year's Members' Day and AGM is a chance for our members to see the impact we’re making together. Members, staff and volunteers will be coming together on Saturday 12 October 2019 to share ideas and successes from across the UK.

In no particular order, here are our top 5 things to look out for on the day:

1. Our outgoing chair and our new chair

Mark Goodridge ends his term at the close of the AGM after 10 years as a trustee and 4 as our chair. Gary Shaughnessy is our new chair and you’ll have the chance to meet him and hear his vision for the charity.

2. Our new five-year strategy

Our Chief Executive, Steve Ford, will introduce our 2020-2024 strategy. You’ll hear our fresh vision on how we intend to help find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson's.

3. The impact of our current five-year strategy

As our current strategy draws to a close, we have been evaluating the impact we’ve made. Our chair will share the highlights in advance of our impact report being published at the end of the year.

4. The latest on physical activity and exercise

Hear the latest evidence on how physical activity and exercise can help manage Parkinson’s symptoms. You’ll learn about the range of opportunities available through our networks around the UK.

5. Co-create a guide to taking your first step

In this session, you can create a guide with your fellow members to help others take their first step towards being more active.

If you’re attending our London event, head over to our marketplace where you can meet fellow members, volunteers and staff. You can also get involved with our Research Support Network, learn about fundraising, help shape our legacy strategy, and meet your trustees.

If you live in England or Scotland, please don’t forget to vote in our Trustee Elections.

You can join us in London, Newcastle, Templepatrick or Stirling. Or you can participate from your home computer, tablet or smartphone.

If you have not received your papers, please contact Kate Monro, Assistant Company Secretary, at [email protected] or on 0207 963 3930
