Help test a new drug to slow the progression of Parkinson’s
We’re looking for volunteers to join a phase 1b research trial.
By taking part, you’ll help to find out if an investigational drug called MTX325 can help slow the progression of Parkinson’s by removing damaged cells that fail to produce energy properly.
We’re looking for 36 people with Parkinson’s who:
• Were diagnosed in the past 5 years
• Are not taking Parkinson’s medication
• And are 40 to 75 years old
Unfortunately, people with a known genetic change linked to Parkinson’s are unable to take part.
You’ll have expert care and in person health checks (including blood samples, a lumbar puncture and brain scans) to make sure you're safe and supported. Find out more about lumbar puncture in this Michael J. Fox Foundation video.
For 1 month, you’ll take either a low or high dose of the investigational drug.
The team will stay in close contact via phone, video and 7 visits to your nearest research site.
