Rosemary Maguire Educational Bursary - Education support for Scotland based professionals

Funding is available to Scotland-based professionals supporting people affected by Parkinson's to get support for their learning and development.

The funding has been made available by the J. MacDonald Menzies Charitable Trust to the Rosemary Maguire Educational Bursary.

Funding learning and development

The J. MacDonald Menzies Charitable Trust has been supporting advancements in Parkinson's care for many years. It has previously funding PhD studentships to supporting the Excellence Network's award-winning Understanding Parkinson's for Health and Social Care Staff learning programme and a number of Speech & Language Therapist to undertake the online LSVT training.

Applications can be made by any health or social care professional living in Scotland. Only one award application can be made in any given calendar year and can be used for any costs related to participating in an education programme.

Commitment to improving care

Annie Macleod, Scotland Country Director for Parkinson's UK, comments:

"We are thrilled that the J. MacDonald Menzies Charitable Trust has continued to show commitment to improving care for people affected by Parkinson's by providing this funding.

"Applicants can use this bursary towards covering the costs of any aspect of taking part of a learning and development opportunity, from course fees to even travel expenses, which is really positive.

"This is particularly significant for professionals working in remote areas in Scotland where the high cost of travel can mean that professionals might not be able to engage in these vital opportunities to develop their practice."
