About the course

This self-directed, foundation-level course will develop your knowledge and understanding of Parkinson’s non-motor symptoms. You will learn about approaches to managing symptoms, how they can fluctuate, and the impact they can have on people living with the condition. Working at your own pace, you will have opportunities to reflect on your current practice and explore practical approaches to enhance your support for people living with the condition.

What will you learn?

By the end of this course you will be able to: 

  • recognise the range of non-motor symptoms associated with Parkinson’s
  • identify some of the techniques and approaches for managing non-motor symptoms
  • recognise that Parkinson’s symptoms can fluctuate
  • describe the impact that non-motor symptoms can have on people living with Parkinson’s
  • recognise that Parkinson’s is progressive and each person will experience the condition uniquely.
