Discover what's new and what's coming soon to our Learning Hub
Our Learning Hub, provides a range of continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities, created in collaboration with subject matter experts. Read on to find out about new and future additions to our learning offer.
New course: Promoting safer swallowing
Our free, 30-minute interactive course helps you to understand the stages of the swallowing process and how Parkinson’s can impact on this, leading to dysphagia (swallowing problems).
The course focuses on the essential role of speech and language therapists and highlights the importance of timely therapy referrals to address swallowing difficulties.
By the end of the course, learners should feel more confident recognising signs of dysphagia in people with Parkinson’s, and be equipped with actionable steps to promote safer swallowing and improve comfort at mealtimes for their patients, residents and clients.
We developed this course in collaboration with subject matter experts from Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
New programme: Train the Trainer
We've launched our new and improved Train the Trainer programme. The redesigned programme equips health and care trainers with the resources and creative ideas to deliver our "Parkinson’s Explained" learning sessions to their professional colleagues with confidence.
The programme guides trainers through the "Parkinson’s Explained" toolkit, which includes a slide deck, comprehensive trainer notes, and case studies. As well as the materials, the programme supports trainers to develop their facilitation skills and empowers them to think "beyond the slides", helping their participants translate their learning into positive changes in their practice.
If you're a health and care trainer and you've completed our Foundation Programme, then you can move on to complete Train the Trainer.
