About the course

This self-directed, foundation-level course will develop your knowledge and understanding of effective person-centred care in Parkinson’s. You will explore what person-centred care means, the range of professionals who may be involved in a person’s journey with Parkinson’s, and the positive impact that effective team communication can have for people living with the condition. Working at your own pace, you will have opportunities to reflect on your current practice and explore practical approaches to enhance your support for people living with the condition.

What will you learn?

By the end of this course you will be able to: 

  • describe what person-centred care is and why it’s important for people living with Parkinson’s
  • recognise the range of professional roles and services that a person living with Parkinson’s may require at different stages of their Parkinson’s journey
  • describe the impact person-centred care can have on the health and wellbeing of people living with Parkinson’s.
