Grants for physical activity providers

Our grant scheme helps fund activity providers to give people with Parkinson's more opportunities to get and stay active.

The physical activity grants programme will reopen on Monday 2 March.

In 2026, we’ll be offering grants of up to £3,000 to support physical activity projects for people living with Parkinson’s across the UK, and encouraging those who are currently inactive to get involved and connect with local opportunities that help them move more creatively.

The priorities for this year’s grants programme are:

  • to support people with Parkinson’s to take part in movement‑based activities that help build their confidence and encourage a growing interest in being physically active
  • to support people with Parkinson’s who are currently inactive to begin engaging in physical activity and to maintain ongoing participation.

We'll be sharing more information about the application process shortly.

If you have any queries about your 2025 grant application, please contact [email protected].

Parkinson's physical activity and exercise awareness course

This free, online course is for people who provide or promote physical activity and exercise to people with Parkinson's. This may be in a leisure centre, health care setting or in the community.

We highly encourage our applicants to complete this short online course ahead of submitting their application or ahead of starting their project for helping people with Parkinson's become and stay active.

Growth of the Physical Activity Grants

Since the Physical Activity Grants programme first started in 2021, more than £936,000 in funding has been issued.

In that time, the grants have directly helped 392 local community groups, clubs, exercise professionals, activity providers and physios to deliver classes and active projects, ranging from sailing to cultural dance sessions, among many more across the UK.

How a Physical Activity Grant helped me: Yanar

"The funding has enabled me to expand my classes, reaching more people and providing much-needed movement sessions.

"Without this support from Parkinson’s UK, the classes simply wouldn’t have been possible. I would highly recommend applying for a grant."
