Physical activity grants for marginalised communities
Our new pilot grants programme is aiming to help more marginalised communities to deliver physical activity sessions for people living with Parkinson's.
Marginalised communities in the UK can apply for up to £3,000 in funding as part of our new grants pilot. The grants will help more people with Parkinson's from marginalised communities to get active and to engage in local physical activity classes.
Applications are open from Monday 2 June to Sunday 10 August.
We are looking for any innovative new projects that will help marginalised Parkinson's communities who are not currently accessing physical activity opportunities and local authorities with the highest levels of deprivation indicated by the Index of Multiple Deprivation in the UK (2019).
Who can apply?
To apply for a grant, you either need to work with or be a part of one of the marginalised communities and community groups listed below. Or you work with the Parkinson's community in any of the locations listed below.
Funding can be offered for exercise class provision, consultation with the Parkinson's community and towards engagement events. Applicants can apply for up to 60% of their funding to contribute to physical activity sessions and 40% towards community engagement.
If you are unsure if you are eligible or if you need advice about the required criteria to apply for one of the new grants then your local Area Development Manager (ADM) will be able to support you. Find your local area development manager on this map.
