Most of the issues that affect your daily life here in Wales are decided in Wales. These include healthcare (including NHS services), social care, transport and housing. But some areas, such as welfare and benefits, remain the responsibility of the UK Government.
Following the Senedd Election in May 2026, there is a new government in Cardiff Bay. This is an important time for people with Parkinson’s and their support networks in Wales to make sure this new generation of Members of the Senedd (MSs) understand and prioritise their needs. And we’ll be with you every step of the way.
What we campaign for
We work with the Parkinson’s community in Wales to campaign and advocate for better care, services and support for people living with Parkinson’s and their loved ones.
We campaign on the things that matter to you, such as welfare benefits like Personal Independence Payment (PIP), carer assessments, and access to treatments like deep brain stimulation. And we share your experiences with politicians in both Wales and Westminster to demand better. That's why we need you to join us.
How you can get involved
Write to your MS or MP
After the 2026 Senedd Election, everyone in Wales now has 6 Members of the Senedd (MSs) in their constituency. You'll also have an MP who represents you in UK Parliament.
You can write to your MS or MP to say you look forward to seeing their progress in campaigning for people with Parkinson's.
Email your MS or write to them at: (Name of MS), Senedd, Cardiff Bay, Cardiff CF99 1SN.
Find the email addresses of your MS on the Senedd Cymru Welsh Parliament website.
Email your MP or write to them at: (Name of MP), House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA.
Find the email addresses of your MP on the UK Parliament website.
They receive a lot of messages, so it may take a while to get a reply. If you need help contacting your MS or MP, let us know. And please tell us if they are supportive. This helps us follow up and support them to deliver on any commitments they’ve made.
Invite MSs and MPs to your support group
Ask your MSs and MPs to visit your support group. It gives you a great chance to ask questions and share your concerns. You could do something simple, like inviting them to a meeting, or something more involved, like a question time event. We're happy to help your group set this up.
Become a member of our Campaigns Network
Our Campaigns Network is made up of over 10,000 people, all working together to make a real difference for people living with Parkinson's.
We will contact you (usually monthly) with a campaign action for you to take. This could include:
-
contacting the government, your local decision maker, or service planner to support a campaign or to resolve a problem
-
sharing your experiences
-
completing a survey
-
joining others to bring about change.

Share your story
Every Parkinson's story matters. Your story could help someone feel less alone, support a campaign, raise awareness, or help others understand more about Parkinson’s. Whether you're living with Parkinson’s or supporting someone who is, we’d love to hear from you.
Sign up to be a campaigns volunteer
Everyone who lives with Parkinson's, or cares for someone who does, should get the support and treatment they need, no matter where they live. Unfortunately, many people don't have access to the right care. You can change this.
Be part of a vibrant UK-wide team of volunteers influencing politicians and decision makers on the importance of support for people with Parkinson's.
You don't need to be an expert in campaigning or have met your MP or MS before. We'll provide training on how to campaign and grow relationships with decision makers. You’ll learn and develop valuable skills, all while doing something meaningful for the Parkinson's community.
