Power-PD: Testing a flexible hybrid exercise programme
Exercise helps people with Parkinson's manage their symptoms. However, many people need support to be able to exercise regularly. Researchers are testing a group exercise programme which can be completed from home or in person to help build long-term exercise habits.
25 people with Parkinson's who:
• are on a stable dose of Parkinson's medication
• are able to take part in high intensity exercise
• and live in or near the London borough of Camden
You'll be randomly selected to start the Power-PD class straight away or wait 3 months before taking part.
Wearing a device on your wrist to record your movement during the study.
Taking part in 90 minute exercise classes once a week for 12 weeks. Classes will involve 1 hour of high intensity exercise followed by a 30 minute group discussion. You can join the class in person or from home.
2 hour home or study site visits before, during and after taking part in the study. These will involve monitoring your movement and wellbeing.
