DRUM-AI: Using a drumming app to explore changes in hand movements

Music with a steady beat can help people with Parkinson’s walk and move more easily. Researchers have created a drumming app to explore changes in hand movements in Parkinson’s.

They need people with Parkinson’s to test the app to help improve it.

Who

25 people with Parkinson’s living in the UK

What

Attending a 45 minute meeting with the researchers online or over the phone, where you’ll complete 2 surveys and be shown how to use the DRUM app.

Receiving a tablet in the post with the DRUM app installed and written instructions:

• You'll be asked to use the app 5 times a week for 15 minutes, over 8 weeks

• You'll post the tablet back to the research team in a prepaid envelope with 2 surveys to share your experience with the DRUM app

Sharing your feedback on using the app with the researchers, online or over the phone for up to 1 hour.

For more information, please read the participant information sheet.
