Falls prevention summit 2025
This national falls summit focuses on reducing inpatient falls and the harm they cause.
This conference will provide delegates with a step-by-step guide to implementing multiple proven falls reduction interventions in their service. It will address how to ensure patients are as active as possible rather than reducing activity to reduce falls which leads to deconditioning.
The conference will reflect on the April 2025 NICE Guideline update on Falls: assessment and prevention in older people and people 50 and over at higher risk, and the recommendations from the October 2025 National Audit of Inpatient Falls findings.
The day will cover a wide range of topics related to falls prevention, enabling delegates to:
- improve care for patients by reducing inpatient falls, and harm from inpatient falls in their service
- learn from trusts who have developed effective multifaceted inpatient falls prevention programmes
- network with colleagues who are working to reduce inpatient falls, and harm from inpatient falls
- explore the new Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) in relation to falls and Gaining insight from Inpatient Falls (GIIF)
- reflect on case studies to reduce medication-related falls, including hypotension induced by medication, and reducing falls resulting from delirium.
