Scottish Parkinson's Physical Activity Network annual event
Join the Scottish Parkinson's Physical Activity Network in-person event and support the Parkinson's community to be active.
For the first time since its launch in 2020, the Get Active with Parkinson's project is hosting an in-person event. It's a fantastic opportunity to connect, share, and learn about the latest in physical activity tailored for Parkinson's.
Designed for health professionals, leisure providers, and exercise instructors, the event will cover:
- insights from people with Parkinson's into what it takes to get active and how their bones play a part
- a research perspective on the barriers to physical activity for people with Parkinson's
- the experiences of a geriatrician and a Parkinson's nurse with physical activity and Parkinson's
- interactive workshops about resources for freezing of gait, and a functional strength circuit.
Discussions will focus on identifying successful approaches, addressing common challenges, and providing actionable tools to support local service delivery and daily practice.
The programme includes practical demonstrations and dedicated time to network and exchange insights with peers from across Scotland.
