Understanding positive and negative experiences of healthcare

People often report feeling dismissed or not believed by healthcare professionals. Researchers want to learn what makes healthcare experiences feel positive or negative.

This research will shape a new scale to measure how people feel dismissed in healthcare systems.

Who

1000 people who:

• Live in the UK,

• Have been diagnosed with a long-term condition like Parkinson’s or have experienced symptoms for 6 months

• Have used or tried to use healthcare services at least 5 times in the past 2 years

What

Completing 4 surveys online over a 6 month period:

• Each survey will take a different amount of time to complete, ranging from 5 to 40 minutes

• They’ll ask questions about your healthcare experiences, your symptoms and their effect on daily life

• You’ll receive a £5 voucher for completing each of the final 2 surveys at 3 and 6 months

For more information, please read the participant information sheet.
