Speech and Language Therapy Parkinson's Clinical Excellence Network event
The Speech and Language Therapy Parkinson's Clinical Excellence Network's (CEN) in-person event, will bring together speech and language therapy professionals and allied health professionals for a day of networking and learning.
The event, hosted by the Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Parkinson's CEN, including specialist speech and language therapists Caroline Bartliff, Joanne Marshall and Anna Tucker, will be held in Cardiff, Wales.
The day will enable delegates to develop their knowledge of the current evidence base, evaluate how to implement a service improvement project through shared learning and networking, and empower them to get research into practice.
It will support speech and language therapists and allied health professionals with their continuing professional development (CPD) to support, signpost and improve outcomes for people with Parkinson's.
The event will include:
- A discussion on fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) by Anna Tucker, Speech and Language Therapist for progressive neurological disorders and outpatient lead at North Bristol NHS Trust.
- An introduction to group sessions by Joanne Marshall, Advanced Speech and Language Therapist at Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.
- A series of talks on group therapy.
- A presentation from a person with lived experience.
- An update from the Parkinson's UK Excellence Network.
