This conference will equip delegates to spread the message that delirium is preventable and develop their skills in the recognition, assessment and management of delirium.

The conference will also consider the impact of the July 2025 10 year health plan for England on delirium services including the focus on prevention, neighbourhood health and the use of technology, and reflect on the update to the NICE Clinical Guideline on Delirium: prevention, diagnosis and management and the 2025 guidance on delirium and the critically ill patient which has recently been released by the Intensive Care Society.

The day will enable delegates to:

  • network with colleagues who are working to improve practice in the prevention, recognition, assessment and management of people with delirium
  • learn from outstanding practice in preventing delirium and reflect on national development
  • understand the latest evidence on the causes of delirium
  • implement principles and develop skills on assessment of delirium, including electronic assessment
  • learn from best practice in managing delirium at the end of life, and improve communication with patients and carers.
