Treatments and therapies for Parkinson's

The main treatments to help you manage your Parkinson's are medication, physical activity and therapies.

Everyone's Parkinson's is unique. So different combinations of medication, physical activity and therapies will suit different people. Talk to your GP, specialist or Parkinson's nurse and see what works for you.

Complementary therapies

Complementary therapies are treatments used alongside conventional medicine. People with Parkinson's have told us they find complementary therapy helpful.

Deep brain stimulation

DBS is the main type of surgery used to treat Parkinson’s.

Occupational therapy

Occupational therapy can help people with daily tasks and manage Parkinson’s symptoms. 

Physical activity and exercise

Physiotherapy
