Help shape how PIP operates in the future

The Timms Review Steering Group is developing recommendations on how PIP should be reformed. It's inviting people with experience of the system to test the recommendations.

The Timms Review Steering Group is hosting 15 workshops to test their recommendations on how PIP should be reformed.

9 sessions will be in-person at sites across the UK and 6 will be online. Each will have 20 participants.

The workshops will run from 15 September to 7 October 2026.

The key questions that the Timms Review Steering Group want answered are:

  • Will their recommended changes enable people with disability-related costs to live as independently as possible?
  • Will the changes improve claimants’ lives?
  • What unintended or unwanted consequences can they see, if the recommendations are implemented?
  • What would a fair system feel like?

The recommendations will be made available to those who sign up for one of the workshops.

You have until Friday 21 August 2026 to sign up. Those who apply will find out more information on 4 September.

Participate in the workshops by signing up on the gov.uk website.
