Local groups

There are around 365 Parkinson's UK local groups throughout the UK.

These are run by volunteers who usually have experience of Parkinson's and are supported by Parkinson's UK staff.

Our in-person events and activities are still suspended. We’ll continue to monitor the guidance across the 4 nations. And we'll update the advice for face-to-face meetings and activities by Monday 31 August. See more about Parkinson’s and coronavirus on our dedicated page

The groups welcome family members and carers, and some involve health or social care professionals.

Meetings can be informal - a chance to talk and discuss worries and experiences - or may include a presentation by an invited speaker, such as a healthcare professional or complementary therapist.

Many groups hold social events and activities too.

Our in-person activities are currently suspended and under regular review in-line with UK guidance. For details of postponements, and updates on specific activities, please view the relevant pages on the website.
