Get It On Time

We're campaigning to make sure that everyone in a hospital or care home gets their medication on time, every time.

People with Parkinson’s need their medication on time every time. Yet over half of people with the condition don’t get their medications on time in hospital. This can cause stress, anxiety, immobility, severe tremors, and in some extreme cases death.

We’re campaigning to make sure that no one with Parkinson’s is worried that they will leave hospital more unwell than when they went in.

Whether you have Parkinson’s, support someone who does, work in the health and care system or campaign to improve it, you can take action to make hospitals and care homes safer.

Together we can get more people to understand how big this problem is. And we can put pressure on the right people, across the UK, to change hospital policies, improve prescribing in hospitals and make sure staff are trained to give time critical medication.

Policy and campaign successes

Our time critical medication data dashboard won a 2026 HSJ Partnership Award, recognising its important contribution in supporting the NHS to make improvements across the system. Read more about our time critical medication dashboard award win.

We're working with health bodies across the UK to improve their practice around people getting their medication on time. Here are some recent successes:

  • Efforts are paying off as Barts Health NHS Trust, Gloucestershire NHS Foundation Trust, Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust have agreed to benchmark against our recommendations and take action.
  • In Northern Ireland, we’ll be working with the South East Health and Social Care Trust to improve their practice around medication management.
