Policy and campaigns impact report 2025

People with Parkinson’s are waiting too long for care and missing out on vital support. We worked with the Parkinson’s community to push decision makers to act and improve services.

People with Parkinson’s are waiting too long to access NHS care. Many also struggle to get the financial support they need to live well.

In 2025, we worked closely with the Parkinson’s community to make sure these issues were impossible to ignore. Together, we took people’s lived experiences directly to politicians and decision makers across the UK.

Our impact in 2025

We pushed for changes and influenced improvements, including:

  • Stopping proposed disability benefit cuts, protecting access to Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and securing a government review shaped by lived experience.
  • Taking action on Parkinson’s workforce shortages, influencing national NHS plans and securing improved access to specialist care.
  • Improving medication safety in hospitals, helping reduce missed and delayed Parkinson’s medication across the NHS.
  • Shaping national policy and standards, improving quality of care, access to treatments and patient safety.
  • Mobilising supporters to deliver change locally and nationally, influencing governments, NHS bodies and councils across the UK.
