Become a member
Become a member of Parkinson's UK and join a powerful community united by one mission: improving life with Parkinson’s.
Why become a member?

As a member of our community, you have the power to help millions of people with Parkinson’s live well.
Becoming a member means helping us:
- campaign for better health and care
- fund research into groundbreaking new treatments
- run life-changing support services
- find a cure.
We have over 40,000 members across the UK who support us in many ways, from volunteering at events and campaigning in elections, to taking part in clinical trials that bring us closer to vital medical breakthroughs.
Whether you’re living with Parkinson’s or supporting someone with the condition as a family member, friend, or carer, we welcome you as a member and value your involvement.
What you can access

As a member, you play a vital role in shaping our work and community.
You can access:
- Vital support services. This includes our research, specialist helpline, advocacy work, online forums, involvement opportunities, and exercise and wellbeing programmes.
- Our online member events. The events run quarterly, covering essential topics, and attract likeminded people.
- Our community events. These range from local support group meetings and Parkinson’s cafes to specialised activities like dancing, craft workshops, and fundraising challenges.
- Our community awards. The awards allow you to recognise unsung heroes in our community, learn from those supporting others, and help spread hope and create change.
- Our local groups. The groups offer support to people with Parkinson’s, their carers, and families across the UK, including on your doorstep.
- Our Annual Members' Meeting (AMM). The AMM is your opportunity to vote in trustee elections and have a crucial say on key charity matters.
What you get as a member

With members driving everything we do, we take your membership seriously. As a valued member, we make your support meaningful by providing:
- Regular updates straight to your inbox, so you hear about our latest campaigns, news, and research.
- Subscription to our two magazines. We send The Parkinson out 3 times a year. It's packed with information and tips to help you and your loved ones navigate life with Parkinson’s. Progress, our other magazine, comes out once a year, bringing you the latest research breakthroughs and treatment developments as they happen.
- A membership card and pin badge, so you can proudly represent Parkinson’s UK when volunteering, fundraising, or attending local group events.
- Exclusive discounts on Parkinson’s support equipment. The discounts range from deals on supplements and stairlifts, to accessible bathrooms and adjustable beds.
The long-term difference members make

As a member, you help us deliver support for people with Parkinson’s every week. But what really makes a difference is your continued involvement over time.
As a member you can:
- Have a long-term say in our priorities, helping shape how we support people with Parkinson’s now and in the future.
- Influence our services as they grow and evolve, recognising that much of our work takes years to develop and create change.
- Keep lived experience at the heart of what we do. Over time, members help us build a deeper, long-term understanding of life with Parkinson’s, whether you’re living with the condition or supporting someone who is.
