Understanding Impulse Control Behaviours (ICBs) and Disorders (ICDs) is important in Parkinson's management.

These behaviours are strongly linked to dopaminergic medications, especially dopamine agonists. NICE guidance requires that all patients are warned of this risk when starting treatment and annually after that. Younger age, male gender, and a history of substance misuse are additional risk factors.

This guide is a vital resource for the multidisciplinary team managing these complex symptoms. It also includes a framework to help clinicians advocate for service improvements for people with Parkinson’s experiencing these symptoms.
