We developed this guidance with the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) to help nursing staff navigate workplace support alongside the unpredictable, fluctuating nature of Parkinson's.
What's in the toolkit:
- A tailored Health Ability Passport template designed specifically for clinical settings.
- Practical advice and lived experiences from nurses navigating their careers with Parkinson's.
Key focus areas:
- Time critical medication: securing protected breaks so you can take treatment without delay.
- Shift patterns: adjusting working patterns or physical demands across day, evening, or night shifts.
- Fluctuating symptoms: planning ahead so the right support is already in place when symptoms vary.
- Specialist reviews: aligning workplace support with recommendations from occupational health and specialist clinical teams.
