You made it blue! World Parkinson's Day 2025

Once again, you 'blue' us away with all of your awareness raising action for World Parkinson's Day this year! It was especially important to us in our Parkinson's UK Excellence Network tenth anniversary year to see the passion you brought.

Here's a round up of just some of what you got up to.

Debbie Soave and colleagues from East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust Neurophysiotherapy Outpatients department donned vibrant disco wigs to draw attention to the day and their staff information board.

X's (Twitter) #WorldParkinsonsDay feed was alight with scenes of hospital bake sales, information stands, balloon arches, and patient activities.

The Parkinson's Specialist team at University Hospitals Plymouth really went for it again this year with a big awareness stand delivered in partnership with Parkinson's UK Plymouth Branch members and Parkinson's UK colleagues. See their posts on their X (Twitter) feed.

North Bristol NHS Trust made it onto the BBC! See some behind the scenes shots in their post.

NHS Orkney staff wore blue to support their awareness stand. See the photos here.

Antrim Area Hospital held a very tasty looking bake sale to raise awareness and funds. Thank you! Check out their post and photos.

Over on Parkinson's UK Wales's Facebook page we saw Parkinson's nurses from Glan Clwyd Hospital join Parkinson's UK's Wales team on the information stand in the hospital to talk to all that stopped by. See the photo on Facebook.

The Parkinson's nurses at St Thomas', London got creative and invited artist Aimee Bleach to join them on their information stand. Aimee runs a class in Horsham called 'Painting with Parkinson's' which combines live music with painting.

Professional organisations also showed their support. Here's a couple of examples:

Thank you for making this a World Parkinson's Day to remember. Until there's a cure, there's an army of passionate health and care professionals doing their part for people with Parkinson's.
