Applications open for a neurology advanced clinical training fellowship in movement disorders and Parkinson’s

UK neurology specialist trainees are invited to apply for an advanced clinical training fellowship in movement disorders and Parkinson’s. The fellowship is funded by the Parkinson’s UK Excellence Network and supported by the Association of British Neurologists (ABN).

We launched the Advanced Clinical Fellowship scheme in 2023. Since then we’ve invested over £807K to develop the future leaders and influencers in Parkinson’s care by funding 10 trainee doctors in the fields of neurology, geriatric medicine, and psychiatry.

We’re delighted to continue our partnership with the ABN Movement Disorders Special Interest Group (MD-SIG) in 2026 to fund 1 additional fellowship in Neurology for Post/Peri CCT training at a UK hospital. Our funding is available up to £87,000 and covers employment costs only.

Through the fellowship, we aim to enhance and improve access to specialist Parkinson’s services in the UK. We welcome applications from UK neurology specialist trainees who want to pursue a career in Parkinson’s and movement disorders.

Candidates must have completed or be within 3 months of completing their neurology CCT at the time of starting the fellowship. The application deadline is Tuesday 31 March 2026, with interviews expected to take place in May 2026.

You'll find further details about this exciting opportunity, including full eligibility criteria, how to apply, what the funding covers, and where to direct your queries to, on the ABN website.
