New online course: Becoming a Parkinson's Nurse
We've launched a free, online course for student and Band 5 nurses who want to explore becoming a Parkinson's nurse.
Becoming a Parkinson's Nurse is a brand new way for would-be Parkinson's nurses to learn more about this vital and dynamic role, and plan their next career steps.
This free, self-guided course is aimed at student nurses and those in Band 5 roles or above. In particular, Becoming a Parkinson’s Nurse enables learners to:
- examine the breadth of the Parkinson’s nurse role
- gain insight into the practicalities of the profession and the factors that can influence service delivery
- identify the core skills, knowledge, and expertise required to provide person-centred care to people living with Parkinson’s
- reflect on the relationship between embedding best practice and achieving better patient outcomes
- explore the significant positive impact a Parkinson's nurse can have for people living with the condition.
The course takes about 30 minutes plus reflection time to complete.
