Andrew Cassy: meet our new lived experience lead

Andrew Cassy, Parkinson's UK Excellence Network Lived Experience Lead.

Andrew is a worthy successor to the role of lived experience lead following Jane Rideout's departure earlier this year.

He brings a background in IT telecommunications project management and sustainable living and we're sure he'll make use of that experience for the good of the team.

Andrew was diagnosed with Parkinson's at 44 years old. He's currently the only person in the UK to have had stem cell therapy, and he reports it's going well!

His diagnosis led him to become very active in the research and pharma spheres and he works as a pioneer with Kneu Health. Andrew also has experience of influencing policymakers.

Outside of that work, Andrew founded the UK Parkinson's table tennis movement and is passionate about encouraging people with Parkinson's to up their activity levels!

Andrew also has first-hand experience of Parkinson's from a carer's perspective. His father-in-law lived with the condition for nearly 30 years and inspired Andrew's keen interest in supporting people with advanced Parkinson's and those living in care homes.
