Celebrating neuroscience in spring 2023

We are partnering with the British Neuroscience Association (BNA) to plan and deliver the BNA International Festival of Neuroscience 2023. Drawing together leading neuroscientists, including Parkinson’s researchers, from across the globe to celebrate and share the latest thinking in neuroscience today.

We will be working alongside the BNA to shape and steer the whole event, as well as designing our own scientific programme streams for the Festival. There will also be an opportunity to shape some public engagement activities to help raise awareness of Parkinson's.

The conference will take place in Brighton from 23 to 26 April 2023. We have set up an organising committee and plans are well underway.

Professor David Dexter, Associate Director of Research at Parkinson’s UK, said:

"We’re delighted to be partnering with the British Neuroscience Association to bring neurological researchers together in what is shaping up to be an exciting event. It’s always a great opportunity for in person discussion, sharing of ideas and networking, and we hope that we can also bring more awareness to Parkinson’s research and inspire more people to get involved.

"Parkinson’s is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world and there is currently no treatment that can slow or stop the condition, which is why it’s vital that we are united in the search for better treatments and a cure for Parkinson’s. We’re looking forward to creating a programme that shines a light on the exciting work that is underway in Parkinson’s research, the opportunities and challenges."

Co-Chair for the BNA2023 Programme Organising Committee, Dayne Beccano-Kelly, said:

"We’re very much looking forward to working closely with Parkinson’s UK to make BNA2023 in Brighton the best Festival to date! Parkinson’s UK brings together the very best of global research in order to make a real difference to the understanding and treatment of Parkinson’s. This makes them a perfect Festival partner for BNA2023 as we invite people from across the international platform to connect, share and celebrate the latest research in neuroscience."
