APSE announce milestone donation to Parkinson’s UK
The Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE) has raised over £45,000 for Parkinson’s UK.
The not-for-profit organisation, with a head office in Manchester, has been a strong supporter since 2008, making them one of our longest-standing corporate partners.
APSE is dedicated to promoting excellence in the delivery of frontline local government services to communities, including school meals, parks, housing and road maintenance. They work with more than 300 local authorities across the UK to share information and expertise
Diversity in fundraising
Over the years the organisation has fundraised for Parkinson's UK through a variety of events, awards and charity dinners. Parkinson's UK's Corporate Relationships Manager, Ian Savage, met APSE Chief Executive Paul O'Brien at their Manchester offices recently to celebrate their fundraising achievement.
Paul O'Brien added "APSE is proud to support Parkinson's UK as our corporate charity. The money we've raised will help Parkinson's UK continue with its vital research work to find better treatments and a cure, and improve the lives of the 127,000* people in the UK who are living with Parkinson's".
*This article mentions statistics which have since been updated. 2018 data shows that the number of people diagnosed with Parkinson's in the UK is around 145,000.
