What can you recycle for Parkinson's UK?

Cars

We've partnered with Giveacar to recycle unwanted cars and raise money for Parkinson's UK.

The scheme has raised over £20,000 to date, with many happy customers.

Whether your car is good as new, or ready for the scrap heap, every donation will help raise money to support people with Parkinson's.

How to recycle

Donating your car is quick and easy, simply visit the Giveacar website or call 020 7736 4242.

You will be asked to provide the following information:

  • the make and model of the vehicle you would like to donate
  • the charity you would like to nominate - Parkinson's UK
  • whether you would like to receive half of the value of your car or donate the full amount

Giveacar will arrange a free pick-up at a convenient time. Your car will be picked up and sent to scrap or auction.

You will receive a receipt and Parkinson's UK will receive your donation within 6 weeks of collection.

Currency

Still holding onto German Marks or Spanish Pesetas? Why not donate them to Parkinson's UK?

We work with Recycling for Good Causes to recycle old and new coins and banknotes, including out of circulation and pre-Euro currency.

To date we've raised over £17,000 recycling currency, jewellery, phones, laptops and much more.

How to recycle

There are 2 easy ways to recycle currency for Parkinson's UK.

Banknotes

If you have banknotes that you would like to recycle, simply pop them in an envelope (no bigger than A5 in size) and post free of charge by printing out the freepost label (PDF, 60KB) and attaching to your envelope. 

If you would like to receive freepost recycling envelopes, please email [email protected] with your contact details and the number of envelopes you would like to receive.

Coins

If you have a large amount of coins that you would like to recycle, simply request a recycling box or sack from Recycling for Good Causes, and recycle everything from electricals to antiques.

Call 0800 633 5323 or email [email protected] to start your recycling collection.

Involve your family and friends, and arrange a free collection when it's full, or at a minimum weight of 10kg. You could even create a local collection point for your area!

Once collected, your donated goods are recycled, and Parkinson's UK will receive a cheque for the recycled value.

Gadgets, antiques and collectables

Not sure what to do with those old phones, laptops and MP3 players? They can all be recycled for Parkinson's UK!

We work with Recycling for Good Causes to recycle all kinds of gadgets, antiques, collectables and even lost property.

Whether items are brand new or out of order, all of your donations will help to raise money to support people affected by Parkinson's.

Have you got old or broken jewellery knocking around that's destined for the bin? It could be worth more than you think.

We work with Recycling for Good Causes to recycle all kinds of jewellery, from gold and silver to costume jewellery and watches.

We're even able to recycle broken and damaged items, so hold onto those odd earrings and snapped chains.

How to recycle

If you have a small amount of jewellery you can use your own jiffy bag (no bigger than A5 in size) and post free of charge by printing out the freepost label (PDF, 60KB) and attaching to your envelope. 

If you would like to receive freepost recycling envelopes, please email [email protected] with your contact details and the number of envelopes you would like to receive.

Please wrap any fragile jewellery in tissue paper or bubble wrap before packaging. You can also use this freepost address to donate banknotes.
