We know that people with Parkinson’s are waiting too long for the right care. So we're campaigning to make sure people with the condition get access to specialist doctors and nurses they need to live well. And we need your help.
People with Parkinson’s can spend years waiting for a diagnosis. This makes their symptoms worse and costs the NHS money.
And once diagnosed we hear that people with Parkinson’s can’t access the specialist nursing support they need.
Help us make sure everyone with Parkinson’s has access to the specialist care they need. Join our campaign today.
Wendy's story
"I waited over 8 months to see the neurologist to confirm I had Parkinson’s.
"Whilst I was waiting, I started to develop a tremor in my left leg and arm. I feel like after my diagnosis I was thrown back into the world with no advice or guidance.
"I’m still waiting for my brain scan and I haven’t had access to a Parkinson’s nurse."
Support our campaign
We need MPs to work with us to make sure everyone with Parkinson's has access to the specialist care they need.
Ask your MP to write to the minister, Karin Smyth MP, about recruiting, retaining and training the specialist Parkinson's workforce.
Stay up to date with our Can’t Wait campaign and hear how you can take action to make a real difference for people living with Parkinson’s
Personal stories are essential in helping raise awareness of what it’s really like for people living with Parkinson’s. If you’re happy to share your story about accessing healthcare with us, we’d love to hear from you.
Campaigners share their story
Campaigners in Birmingham showed their support for our Can't Wait campaign. They gathered at a mural in the city centre last year to highlight the urgency of the ongoing NHS workforce crisis.
Ask your MP to write to the minister to urge them to make sure everyone with Parkinson's has access to the specialist care they need.
