Support for your research meetings
If you're a Parkinson's researcher, we can offer support and up to £2,500 to set up a meeting or workshop.
We want to help you bring the right people together to get to the heart of complex issues and stimulate new research ideas. We particularly encourage you to involve people with Parkinson's in all parts of your research.
What meetings can we support?
Your meeting should have clear outcomes that could include:
- an application for research grant funding
- publishing discussion papers or review articles
- establishing a research consortium
We are keen to support meetings based around the priorities and unmet needs of people with Parkinson’s. You can review two key papers that outline some of these issues (Port et al., 2021 and Deane et al., 2014).
This funding is not for training or education opportunities.
Who can apply?
We encourage applications from basic scientists, clinicians and healthcare practitioners based at UK research institutions.
Apply for funding
Applications are always open but must be submitted at least 3 months ahead of the planned event. We expect funding decisions to be made within 4 weeks of receiving an application.
Be the first to find out about funding, events, news and opportunities in the world of research by signing up to Synapse, our newsletter for the Parkinson's research community.
Discover our funding schemes and their deadlines. We fund a wide range of research, investigating everything from cause to cure to better treatments right now.
We expect all research to involve people living with Parkinson's. There are many ways we can support you to involve people with Parkinson's and their loved ones in a meaningful and timely way.
