What we do
We're the UK's Parkinson's support and research charity. Because
we're here, no one has to face Parkinson's alone.
Information and support
We provide information
and support through:
We offer education and training and
develop resources for health and social care
professionals to help improve services for people affected by
Parkinson's.

Research
We’re the largest charity funder of Parkinson's research in the UK.
So far, we've invested more than £50million in groundbreaking
research. And by 2014, that figure will have reached
£75million.
We fund research to advance our understanding of Parkinson's and
what causes it.
Our research also improves treatments to make life easier for
people living with Parkinson's.
Over the next 5 years our ambitious research strategy - Our plan to cure Parkinson's - Parkinson's UK
research strategy 2010-2014 - will push our search for a
cure to a new level.

Friendship and support
We offer friendship and support to everyone living with
Parkinson's, their families and carers via our network of local groups across the UK.
Campaigning
We campaign to make sure people
living with Parkinson's are treated fairly, with access to the
support they need.
We want everyone to get high quality health and social care,
including help from a specialist Parkinson's nurse.
We also improve understanding of Parkinson's by changing
attitudes and challenging myths.
Fundraising
Without the generosity of
people like you, our work would not be possible. Supporters and
volunteers are as vital to us as researchers and nurses.
Our work is totally dependent on donations. It's only with your help that we can
continue our vital research projects, and provide support and
information.
There are lots of ways you can get
involved and support us - help us to find a cure and
improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson's.
Working with industry
We recognise the importance of working collaboratively with all
stakeholders with an interest in Parkinson's.
As a charity dependent on voluntary
donations, we do rely on support from individuals and industry
bodies. Approximately 0.5% of our income originates from
pharmaceutical companies.
We work in an open and transparent way with industry to protect
the impartiality of the charity. Our industry supporters don’t have
any input into the content of our
publications.
We review our policies regularly and we will continue to work
with industry where we believe it is in the interests of people
with Parkinson's.
