Research grants
Our wide range
of research grants offers support to scientists
researching Parkinson's at
every stage of their careers.
We're the largest charity funder of Parkinson's research in the UK.
So far, we've invested more than £50million in groundbreaking
research. And by 2014, that figure will have reached
£75million.

Research funding process
As a member of the Association of Medical Research
Charities (AMRC), we ensure that only the best quality research
is funded.
Each application is rigorously assessed by an independent panel
of experts. This guarantees that every penny donated towards
research will benefit people with Parkinson's.
In 2011 we passed the
AMRC peer review audit, which takes place every 5 years.

process.
Our plan to cure Parkinson's
Over the
next 5 years our ambitious research strategy will
help push our search for a cure to a new level by tackling 4 key
challenges:
- understanding why nerve cells die in Parkinson's
- developing new animal models of Parkinson's
- faster, better drug screening
- finding 'biomarkers' to allow earlier diagnosis

Parkinson's.
