The PDS supports a wide range of high
quality biomedical, health and social care and social policy
research, and encourages funding applications from all sectors to
undertake research related to improving the quality of life for
people with Parkinson's.
We accept UK applications only (applicants must be affiliated
with a UK institution), and only provide funds for research related
to Parkinson's.
As a member of the Association of Medical Research
Charities, the administrative and review processes that we
follow are rigorous and ensure that only the best quality research
is funded by the Society.
Applying for grants
To apply for one of our grants, an application form must be
completed, including a full justification for the amount of money
required. A summary of the application in plain English, to be
understandable by a lay audience, is also requested within the
form. Once the application forms are received, an extensive
review process begins. This review process takes into account the
viewpoints of a number of different people, both specialist and
lay. A decision on funding is ultimately reached by the Board of
Trustees based on the recommendations made by the various review
panels.
