Research grants

ResearcherWe are the largest charity funder of Parkinson's research in the UK.

Our wide range of research grants offer support to scientists at every stage of their careers.

Our priority areas for research are:

  • understanding why nerve cells die in Parkinson's
  • developing new animal models of Parkinson's
  • faster, better drug screening
  • finding 'biomarkers' to allow earlier diagnosis

We only support research directly related to Parkinson's. Some support is available for international research collaborations.

Research funding process

As a member of the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC), we ensure that only the best quality research is funded.

Each application is rigorously assessed by an independent panel of experts. This guarantees that every penny donated towards research will benefit people with Parkinson's.
